Thank you for your interest in working with SwimMetro Management, Inc.  We are excited that you have taken the first step towards employment with SwimMetro by visiting our internet site. SwimMetro manages only the finest community and country club pools throughout the Greater Richmond area. We provide extensive training and around the clock support to all of our staff members throughout the season.

We will be hiring Pool Managers, Assistant Managers, Head Guards, Lifeguards, and Swim Instructors for the upcoming 2020 swim season. The professionalism, maturity, and commitment level of each staff member is critical to our success. We are looking for responsible, dependable, hardworking individuals to fill these positions. If you are interested in applying for one of these Pool Manager, Assistant Manager, Head Guard, Lifeguard, and Swim Instructor positions, please follow the steps below to complete the application process.

Application Process

The steps below provide a high level overview of our application process. For specific details regarding each of the steps, please review/print our Employment Process Guide.

  1. Create a SwimMetro online account. Please ensure that you record your user ID and password. This account will be used throughout our application process.

  2. Complete our online employment application. After submitting your application, please allow up to a week to process your application.

  3. Complete any additional, required paperwork (i.e. tax forms, direct deposit forms, etc.).

  4. Complete/provide your American Red Cross certifications to SwimMetro.

  5. Monitor your email and the message board below for your pool placement notice, scheduling and orientation information.

Be sure to complete the application process as soon as possible, as pool assignments are granted on a first come, first serve basis. 6-30-2020Training & CertificationNow that social distancing requirements have been eased and we are now able to fully certify lifeguard course participants within a reasonable time, a copy of your lifeguard certification must be provided to the Director of Human Resources to satisfy the certification aspect of the pool placement process before you will be placed at a pool.
6-03-2020SchedulingSome of you have already been in contact with your manager if your pool opened for lap swimming under Phase I. Now that we are entering Phase II, which starts this Friday, managers will be reaching out to request scheduling availability to begin making a schedule. Not all pools plan to open this Friday so please allow up to 1 week to hear from your manager.

5-14-2020Pool PlacementThe following 3 updates have been made to our Pool Placement Process given current social distancing requirements:
5-14-2020Pool Placement1. For those needing to take the initial lifeguard course to satisfy the certification requirement: Please visit our Training Page to view our course modifications. Assuming all pre-employment paperwork has been submitted, employees will be eligible for pool placement once they have completed the first half of our social distancing class (pre-test, online learning and social distanced CPR instruction) as opposed to waiting until they complete the entire course.  However, employees will not be able to work until the entire course has been completed and the certification has been issued.
